Nonviolence Project - Biographical Sketch

Description
Students will use streaming video and other Internet resources to research information about a 20th Century nonviolent activist (Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Jr., Cesar Chavez). Students will create a digital presentation using the information found in their research to present a biographical sketch about one of the activists.

Activities

Create a presentation slideshow that is a Biographical Sketch about your activist (Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Jr., Cesar Chavez) using the information found on the Internet. 

Slideshows should include:

  • Biographical information
  • Images and graphics
  • Bibliography/Works cited
Slideshows should identify:
  • Your activist's nonviolent movement
  • How your activist got involved in their movement
  • The role your activist played in their movement
Slideshows should address:
  • What nonviolent techniques did their movement employ?
  • What obstacles did they need to overcome to achieve change?
  • What were the outcomes of their movement?
Slideshows should be created using Google Docs Presentation.
